about

It is commonplace for old-time musicians to repeat a single tune numerous times with little or no variation. Scottish and Irish musicians, by contrast, more often play sets containing several tunes with less repetition. This set, like others on the album, is thus a compromise between old-time and Scottish & Irish practices.
